New Year, New Me!

(I know, the most commonly used New Year's blog title ever)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Nick and I helped pull off a surprise for my family...we helped my sister Maddy come to North Carolina for Christmas! No one was expecting her, and it was totally last minute that she was able to make it. She flew to Boston so that she could ride down with us and surprise everyone! It was so great that we were all able to be together for Christmas.

Now, as for the New Year, I am excited for what's in store! I have decided to really focus on making some changes this year. I've started trying to get healthier again by eating well and working out. I really want to get a hold of my apartment by working on my messes (and finally throwing some crap away!). I need to get a handle on how I spend my money to prepare for our wedding and the possibility of buying a house in the near future.

Now, I have made resolutions in the past; and that's not what these are. These are things that I have wanted and needed to do for a while, I am just using the new year as a jumping off point. These aren't like my resolutions of the past where I say "I'm not going to drink as much coca-cola", these are more serious life changes!

Along with my changes, I plan to blog about them a lot more. This might include recipes of foods that I am making, pictures of the things I am organizing in my house, ways that I am trying to save money, and fun wedding ideas! Please bear with me, as I am not entirely sure the direction that this blog will go!

I hope you all have a happy, healthy, and wonderful New Year! I think 2011 is going to be a great year!

  1. I wish you great success with all your goals!!
I am attempting to use New Years as a jumping off point as well. Even though it's traditional and perhaps even, cliche...the thing is-if it motivates us, WHO CARES!!
    Happy New Year!!
Can't wait for your posts (especially WEDDING ones!!) :) :) :)

  2. I'm with ya on the "I'm not making New Year's resolutions"...rather just that there are things I've been meaning to do that I will now force myself to focus on, haha.
