Dresses!

(Nick, this is the post where you shouldn't look!!)

I went to David's Bridal to try on wedding dresses with my younger sister the other day, just to get a head start on what I think I would like to wear. It was fun and some dresses really surprised me! I have decided that I don't want to post pictures of my actual dress (on here or on any of the boards that I post on). I don't want anyone who will be at the wedding to stumble upon it; I want everyone to be surprised! Although I am not sure what dress I will be wearing, I know that there are some dresses that I for sure will not be wearing. Here are a couple of those!

Although I like the way this one looks on me, it doesn't fit with how I want my wedding to look. I do feel like I have a very nice shape in this top though!

This one is more like what I imagine: something classic that I won't look back at and cringe! I like the way this looks (minus the serious cleavage), but there just wasn't anything very special about it!

This was one that I knew right away would not be the dress for me. It was one that Nick had said that he liked in the catalog, so I tried it on to see. I think it looks OK but it's just a little too trendy for me. I described it to the consultant as "young" looking, and she replaced that with "trendy"...I think that works well!

I can't wait to go back and try on some other dresses (along with my top choices again!). What I decide will really depend on where we decide to get married, as the couple of venues that we have in mind have varying formality!

  2. I definitely like the second one the best. It is very flattering on you - maybe it is the rouching? I found rouching to be best for my figure personally. But the third is also beautiful.
I can't wait to see more choices!

  3. Thanks guys! It may a be a while until you see the actual dress, but I promise to post again with some of the ones that I don't wind up picking!

  4. i agree that the venue can help decide a lot of things when it comes to the dress. looking is the fun part! I plan to do an entire scrapbook page of the "dresses that never were" (and blog post) after we're married!

  6. I love the second and third dresses! Of course, my dress was pretty "trendy" as well.

I agree with you not posting any pictures of your actual dress! I think maybe two or three people saw my dress in its bag in my closet; no one but the shop workers saw it on me and there were NO pictures floating around. It was a complete secret and I think it surprised everyone, which was great :o)
